Terms & Conditions
Our terms of trading are simple, 33% deposit (rounded up to the nearest £10.00) secures your order. Cheques etc. should be made to LANCASTERS ARMOURIE Ltd. The balance is due prior to dispatch (currently 6 - 18 weeks from receipt of deposit ~ depending on the time of year). All prices are in British Pounds, all payments received are in British Pounds. The purchaser is responsible for paying exchange rate and cash transfer fees.
STANDARD CONDITIONS OF SALE
In this agreement the following expressions (whether related with a specific item or not) have the following meanings unless the context requires otherwise.“OWNER” means the person, firm or company contracting Lancasters Armourie Ltd to manufacture goods. “GOODS” mean the products listed by Lancasters Armourie Ltd on its product list. “COMPANY” means Lancasters Armourie Limited. “RE-ENACTMENT” means the staged copying of medieval style combat.
Whereas the Company makes every endeavour to ensure its goods are suitable for their intended use (the re-enactment of medieval combat); the Owner should note the following.
The Owner acknowledges and accepts that the very nature of the Company's products and the use they are intended carries potential personal risks and accordingly the Owner is personally responsible for ensuring each participant is aware of those risks.
The Company recognises the Owner understands the potential risks involved in the use of the Company's products and that the Owner fully accepts liability for that use. The Company cannot accept liability for injury resulting from such use.
Liability; except as expressively provided in these conditions, all other warranties or statements, terms and conditions that may be implied by statute, or common law custom of trade, or otherwise are excluded.
The Owner acknowledges and accepts they have 6 months (183 days) from the date of their order, to collect their order. After this time, the order will deem to be abandoned and treated as cancelled.
Completion dates for orders are an estimate only and due to outside influences cannot be guaranteed
Deposits for orders (equivalent to 33% rounded up to the nearest £10) are forfeit to the Company in the event of cancellation of an order.
Liability for damage or physical loss of property of the owner resulting from failure of its goods, shall not be excluded by the Company, provided the Companies liability shall not exceed the lesser of cost of repair or replacement of the item and shipping within the UK. Such liability shall be for twelve months from the date of dispatch to the Owner.
The Company shall not be liable for failure of the goods or failure resulting from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence or failure to follow the Company's instructions for the maintenance of goods.
In the event the Owner writes to the Company concerning failure of its goods, the Owner shall give the Company reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods which have failed.
If requested by the Company, the Owner will return the goods to the Company's premises at the Owners expense, to enable the Company to carry out such inspection.
Legal ownership of goods remains with the Company until final payment has been received.
The Company reserves the right to alter its products.
This agreement is subject to the Law of England and Wales.

EDGED WEAPONS POLICY:
Lancasters Armourie arms are only available to persons over the age of 18 years and that are Museums, Collectors, Martial Arts Specialists, Historical Re-enactors, Stage and show presenters and others who would have a valid reason to buy them. We do NOT sell sharp edged weapons, and do not intend to do so. By purchasing from Lancasters Armourie you are agreeing NOT to put a sharp edge on any of our weapons.
Most people are now aware of the National Association Re-enactment Societies (NAReS), the Early Medieval Alliance (EMA) and the international “INTERMEDIEVAL” who have all drawn up lists of suggested safety guidelines. L/A conform to these guidelines ( “1.6mm” steel for armour - quantified weapons steel etc).
WE CONTINUE TO INVEST IN BRITAIN BY MANUFACTUREING OUR PRODUCTS FROM MATERIALS PURCHASED IN BRITAIN – WHERE EVER POSSIBLE, EVERYTHING IS HANDMADE BY US IN OUR WORKSHOPS.
