SUSPENDING THE ARMOUR FROM YOUR WAIST BELT
Thread the pair of looped suspension straps onto a broad sturdy belt, and buckle the armour to them. Take your time to ensure that they are fixed to the right point of the belt or your armour will "roll" over your thigh. Ensure your knee is well into the knee cup to be sure the strap is buckled at the right length.
The lower leg (plates LL8/LL9) are self-supporting and need no further assembly.
Fitting notes: You may find it helpful to fit a reinforcing piece of cloth or leather over your pelvic bone to reduce rubbing. If a plate is rubbing on a bone, it may be necessary to warp or bend the plate (by pressing against a solid surface at opposite corners) to adjust it to your own skeletal structure. Also, try gluing a pad of dense sponge near the place it rubs to lift it away from that point.
The straps on plates LL1/LL2 should be reasonably loose. Thighs are a large muscle group and the straps need freedom to allow their movement. The straps on LL7 should be tight over the calf, as they help to support the upper plates. We recommend you spend some time playing with the tightness of the straps to suit your own muscles.
The more frequently you wear your armour, the quicker it will adopt your personal shape. Once your armour fits comfortably, never lend it to another person - it will come out of your shape quicker than it went in!
